Why is my location not accurate sometimes?

Environmental factors and GPS drift can impact the accuracy of your device’s location tracking.

What are Environmental Factors?

These include buildings, trees, interference, and not having enough satellites in view, which can obstruct or reflect GPS signals.

What is GPS Drift?

GPS drift is the discrepancy between your actual location and where the GPS receiver says you are. This discrepancy can occur due to various reasons, including atmospheric conditions and signal reflections, with an outdoor accuracy of around 5~20 meters for our devices.

What causes GPS drift?

It’s commonly caused by signal reflections, atmospheric conditions, and the angle of the sun, which can increase atmospheric interference.

What is A-GPS?

Assisted GPS (A-GPS) improves startup performance and GPS accuracy, providing a more precise location fix.

Will the device work inside a building?

GPS signals are generally obstructed indoors, but our device can use BLE Beacon, Wi-Fi, and cell locate services for indoor positioning, though less accurate than GPS.

What is Wi-Fi Positioning?

Wi-Fi positioning uses the characteristics of wireless access points to locate devices. It’s useful in dense urban areas and indoors where GPS is less reliable.

How accurate is Wi-Fi Positioning? (Not home Wi-Fi)

The accuracy improves with the number of observed access points and is contingent on their precise ground truth.

What is Home Wi-Fi Positioning?
