Invoice generator for freelancers
Bill the month's hours in a minute.
Hours times rate, expenses, tax and payment terms on one clean PDF. Tick Remember and next month starts filled in, on this device only. Free, no sign-up.
Made in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to us or stored by us.
Nothing you type leaves your browser
There is no account and nothing to upload. The form, the preview and the PDF are made on your device, so we never receive your invoice, your client's details or your prices, and we keep nothing.
Tick Remember my details and your own name, address, logo and payment details are kept in this browser only, on this device, so next month's invoice starts filled in. It is off until you tick it, and unticking deletes them. Your client and your lines are never kept.
This page loads no ad tags. We count page views and downloads with Plausible, which uses no cookies and never sees what you type.
Getting paid on time
Most late payments are invoices that were late, unclear or missing a detail. Five habits fix most of it.
Invoice the day the work is done
Or on the same day every month for ongoing work. The sooner it is sent, the sooner the clock starts.
Keep one number sequence
1001, 1002, 1003, never skipped or reused. With your details remembered, the generator suggests the next number after each download.
Say when it is due
A due date, not only “30 days”. Fourteen days is common for freelancers; set what you agreed with the client.
Name what the client needs to approve it
Their purchase order number, the project name or the contact who ordered it, in the client's address or the line itself.
Make paying easy
Bank details or a payment link in Payment details, spelled out in full. Every question about how to pay is a week's delay.
Questions
How do I bill hours?
One line per kind of work: the description, the hours as quantity and your hourly rate as price. Quarter hours work too: 7.25 times 95 adds up for you.
What payment terms should I use?
Whatever you agreed. Fourteen or thirty days is common. Put the due date in the Due field and, if you like, the terms in the note.
Do I need to add VAT or sales tax?
It depends on where you are registered and where your client is. If you charge it, name it (VAT, GST, sales tax) and set the rate; it is added to the subtotal. If you do not, leave the rate empty. Check your own country's rules.
Will it remember me next month?
Yes, on this device, if Remember my details is ticked: your name, address, logo, payment details, currency, tax and the next invoice number. Your clients and lines are never kept.
Is it really free?
Yes. No account, no trial, no watermark, no limit on invoices. Make as many as you need.
Is anything I type stored or sent?
No. The invoice is made in your browser and the PDF is drawn on your device. Only if you tick Remember my details (it starts off) are your own details kept, in this browser. Untick it to delete them.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. On an iPhone the PDF opens in a preview; tap Share to save it to Files or send it. On a computer it lands in your downloads.
Can I keep my invoices and clients here?
No, this page keeps nothing but your own details, on your device. Keep the PDF you download. If you want your clients, quotes, invoices and reminders in one place, that is what Pinpal Jobs is for.
